Danielle Ash

I am an independent artist-curator based in London and Suffolk and manage artist residencies at Suffolk-based nature reserves, part of a long-term curatorial research project. Whilst studying for my MFA in curating at Goldsmiths, University of London, I kickstarted the research-led pilot project Sound Art Residency: Suffolk Soundcamp, at the Gunton Warren Nature Reserve in Suffolk (2018). I have since been commissioned to nurture an artist hub at Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve, the first of a series of SiteStays in Suffolk, with the intention of eventually exploring other UK and international protected sites. The public facing element of this project is a collaborative artist commission that will be exhibited in June 2019 at First Light Festival, Lowestoft and ArtWaves 2019 Festival, Bridlington.

Recent curatorial projects include; 12/12, at her home in Castle Park, Lancaster (2017); The Artist’s Marks, at the Peter Scott Gallery in Lancaster (2016); Transition, at The Storey, Lancaster (2016). Ash has also exhibited work at EnclaveLab, South London (2018); Unit10, Bristol (2016); Peter Scott Gallery, Lancaster (2015); Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Edinburgh (2015).

Placements include: Grizedale Arts, Cumbria, Bold Tendencies, Peckham, VITRINE Gallery, London and Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal.
