Anouk Froidevaux

I am a Canadian-Swiss professional dance artist, performing across Europe and internationally for 16 years. I have worked transnationally in Europe, collaborating with local communities through performances and experiential workshops. In 2003, I received my Dance Individual Study Bachelor at Codarts, Rotterdam. Since 2009, I am part of Berlin-based dance theatre company Constanza Macras/Dorkypark. Working with Constanza in collaboration with the artists of Dorkypark, has allowed me to work directly with immigrant artists and refugees, addressing issues around migration, identity, and tradition. Some projects include, "Megalopolis", "Berlin Elsewhere", and "Open For Everything", involving a group of ethnic Roma across Eastern Europe, as well as "On Fire", a South-African artist exchange in Berlin.

My performance background includes working with composers, visual artists, and interactive designers such as, Ari Benjamin Meyers, Enrica Beccalli, and Bogomir Doringer, in durational performance installations.

My artistic practice includes teaching workshops to over 250 professional and amateur dancers across Berlin, Brussels, Lisbon, and Vancouver, Canada.

Since 2013, I work as a certified GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor.

I recently received my certification in the "Personal Embodiment" immersive program at Tamalpa Institute in California, learning the Life/Art Process®, an expressive arts and dance therapy method founded by dance pioneer Anna Halprin and her daughter Daria Halprin.

My main fields of interest for RESHAPE are, developing alternative ways to connect artists with their audiences, as committed and engaged citizens, and offering more visibility and recognition to processed-based artistic projects that help connect the social fabric.
