Tara Lasrado

Tara Lasrado is a freelance curator + producer based in Zürich, particularly interested in experimenting with non-conventional public programs that engage new audiences + mobilise communities. She enjoys working outside of institutional frameworks, on self-organised + collective projects and on experimental + interdisciplinary collaborations. She is the co-founder + curator of PROGETTO 6000, an annual public program connecting emerging contemporary artists from Ticino with local cultural institutions + off-spaces in Zürich.

In 2018, she assisted the Artistic Director of Cabaret Voltaire, the birthplace of the Dada and a contemporary performance space. She is also the artist + grants coordinator for AKI AORA, an international artist residency, temporary experimental music studio + public program which takes place in Tulum, Mexico.

In 2017 Tara joined Forward Creatives, a creative agency that organises the Forward Festival for design, taking place annually in Vienna, Munich & Zürich. Tara was responsible for international partnerships, including representing Forward in the EU funded Regional Creative Industries Alliance (RCIA) in Lublin, Barcelona & Bolzano.

From 2013 - 2016 Tara worked for Manifesta, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, in both the head office in Amsterdam on Manifesta 10, St. Petersburg + in the local Manifesta 11 team in Zürich. Tara graduated from Utrecht School of the Arts with a MA Arts Management in 2013. During this time she was part of MilesKm, an international artists collective + the co-founder of wetrecht, a collaborative art project conceived as a site-specific responsive to living in Utrecht.

In the second half of 2018, Tara was “out of office” and in Russia, Caucuses, Armenia, Iran + east/south Africa. In 2019, she commenced the CAS Arts & International Cooperation at the ZHdK and will continue to work on her curatorial projects. | | |
